Reputation:  Modern Design Cabinetry has been in business for 30 years and we work with some of the best high-end builders and clients in Minnesota and throughout the United States.

Design: We have designers on-staff to meet with you to help design your space. They help with selections including cabinet layout, wood species, stain and paint colors, cabinet style and door style, components and accessories such as roll out drawers, trash roll out, utensil and spice inserts, knife block, pan dividers, Tupperware organizers, etc.

Construction:  Our cabinets use dado construction, which provides a precise fit and extra gluing surface to ensure a very strong cabinet. The dado is cut on our CNC, which makes for a very clean cut with a perfect fit.

Materials & Methods:  Modern Design uses 3/4" material for the sides, tops and bottoms of the cabinets while many competitors use 1/2" thick material. We use 1/2" material for the backs of the cabinets to guarantee an extremely strong and square cabinet, which sets us apart from other cabinet makers that do not put a back on their cabinets or only use 1/4" materials.

Hardware:  We use high quality, name brand soft close hinges and soft close slides.  This costs more, but it makes the cabinet last and function with ease.

Finish:  Modern Design uses very durable and beautiful finishes when staining, painting and finishing our cabinetry.  We use a top of the line, catalyzed, water resistant finish to help protect the cabinets. All of our finishing is done in our controlled spray booths, to provide an extremely smooth finish. Onsite finishing can lead to a rough, unprofessional finish since there are often particles in the air at the jobsite. Onsite finishing can also leave lingering smells in your home.

Installation:  When installing our finished product in your home, we custom-scribe the cabinets to the walls and to the floor, so that the cabinets fit tight, unlike some other shops who don’t scribe and instead use caulking to fill the gaps. We custom-scribe our wood and laminate countertops to the wall, as well.
